Training
Sherif graduated as a dentist in 2005 in Cairo, Egypt, and became a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2007. He went on to hold an international research scholar position at the University of Texas in Houston.
He earned his clinical Master's degree in Dental Implants — awarded with distinction — from the University of Manchester, and completed a postgraduate certificate in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry.
Clinical work
His expertise spans the full range of implant dentistry, from single-tooth replacement through to full-arch reconstruction, and he regularly manages sinus lifts and bone grafting as part of complex implant planning.
He is also highly experienced in the surgical management of impacted wisdom teeth, having carried out thousands of these procedures over the course of his career, with extensive experience gained across various UK hospitals.
Teaching and research
Sherif currently holds a part-time role as a specialty doctor in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Coventry University Hospitals, where he mentors and teaches junior dentists.
He has co-authored a textbook on Cone Beam CT technology in the head and neck, alongside contributions to several peer-reviewed journals. That interest in three-dimensional imaging feeds directly into day-to-day practice: it is what allows the position of a nerve, a sinus or an impacted root to be understood properly before any surgery begins.
Working with referring dentists
Alongside his own patients, Sherif routinely accepts oral surgery and implant referrals from dentists and GPs across Nottingham, working closely with referring practices so that patients return to their own dentist with a clear record of what was done. See the referral pathway.
Away from the clinic
Outside his professional life, Sherif spends time with his family, swims and plays football. He enjoys travelling, exploring new places and learning about different cultures.
Arrange a consultation
Appointments are available at both Nottingham practices, for patients arranging treatment themselves and for referrals.
